Remembering our Heros!
September 11, 2011 will forever be etched in our minds. Megan and I had the pleasure of seeing the stately twin towers over the New York skyline. What a beautiful site it was.
I will never forget hearing the news of the first plane hitting the tower on the radio while traveling to work. Then, the second one which is when everyone realized what was happening. I immediately called my husband to turn on the news. I remember everyone at work gathering around the TV to watch the unfortunate events unfold.
Not long after, Megan and I once again traveled to New York. As we made our way to ground zero, we met a wonderful woman who pointed out all of the sites around the area. We will never forget the sill burning embers, the steel cross, the people mourning, the musicians singing as we walked by the fence to read the timeline of events. It was an experience that was reverent and tugged at your heart strings and would not let go.
We long for another trip just to visit the now completed Freedom Tower memorial.
We not only remember those in New York, but the lives lost in Pennsylvania and the Pentagon.
Today, let us not forget this horrific time in our history. Remember those who are no longer with us, the survivors and the responders and those they left behind.
Today, we pray for healing and comfort that only the Lord can provide. May the Lord bless the USA!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
